The world’s only Apple®-based home control, automation, and media system, Savant was the first company to introduce a native iPad®, iPhone®, and iPod touch® application delivering complete control and automation. Savant also pioneered On-TV Menu control with TrueCommand™— transforming any HD display into a "control portal" delivering user interaction previously available only through dedicated touch panel devices.
In addition to the numerous innovative automation and multizone audio/video products, Savant provides an open-programmable, intelligent control and a media management software solution called RacePoint Blueprint™ that configures and controls any media component or sub–system without writing a single line of code.
History & Leadership
A proven track record, implementing a world-class approach
Savant Systems LLC was founded in 2005 by a core group of technology pioneers and business executives, bringing together hundreds of years of combined real-world success in applications such as programmable systems, digital signal processing, video processing, telephony, switching platforms and home electronics integration.
With the onset of de-regulation in the telecommunications industry in the late 1980's, Robert Madonna identified an opportunity to introduce an open-based switching platform that would enable rapid deployment of new applications and features and founded Excel Switching Corporation in 1988. Using this innovative approach, and with the managerial support of Jim Carroll and JC Murphy, Excel Switching quickly became the leading provider of open-programmable switches to some of the largest telecommunications companies around the world. In November of 1997, Madonna took Excel Switching Corporation public; two years later Lucent Technologies purchased Excel in 1999.
Savant is driven by strong, proven leadership with an existing track record of innovation and success in the telecommunications industry. Robert Madonna, CEO, Jim Carroll, General Manager of Residential Business, and JC Murphy, General Manager of Commercial Business have reunited more than a decade later to position Savant as the global leader in control, automation and media convergence. Coupled with the financial wherewithal of Excel Switching and Lucent veteran Bruce Myers and the operations excellence of former Motorola executive Bruce Hayes, Savant has built a formidable team.
Combining this past and present experience and technical advancements, Savant has emerged as the leading provider of control, automation, and media systems.
