Already tasting success from its acclaimed Experience Center in New York City, automation manufacturer Savant is adding another facility to be a resource for integrators, this time at its own Hyannis, Mass., headquarters.

Savant is opening the doors to a 2,000-square-foot "Technology Showcase" within its Cape Cod offices that dealers will be able to use for both training and demonstrations of its Apple-based solutions to bring residential and commercial clients.

The latter part is chief among the impressive aspects to the New York City location, where Savant dealers must be certified in the protocol of demonstrations before taking customers on tours.

The Manhattan facility is much fancier, with its design by TV personality Thom Filicia, and much larger at 8,000 square feet, but the new Technology Showcase will include everything an integrator needs to wow prospective clients, according to Savant: interactive video displays detailing lighting control, energy management, audio/video switching and control, user interfaces, architectural speakers with multi-channel amplifiers, telephony with gateway entry integration, digital display/video overlay technology, plus a full home theater driven by Savant.

Also, for commercial integrators in particular the company can show off how advanced technology is being incorporated and used in its own offices.

"We felt that there was a natural synergy for us to construct a highly interactive showroom within our new Hyannis, Mass., headquarters, which also features corporate offices and an advanced training center," says Savant CEO Robert Madonna. "In addition to product demonstrations in all key categories, the Technology Showcase is also equipped with fully automated conference rooms to facilitate meetings in a corporate, productive environment."

Savant says integrators can bring not only clients, but other trades that get involved on residential and commercial projects such as architects, designers and builders to the facility. It is a by-appointment showroom, with regional Savant representatives tasked with taking the appointments.

The facility also includes a "Futures Lab" to provide a sneak peek at products and technologies that are in development. Savant notes that dealers can find more information about the Technology Showcase at another location that's recently undergone some renovation - the company's website, which was also re-launched this week in conjunction with Savant's annual dealer conference.
