June 27, 2012 - Steinway Lyngdorf, a high-end audio manufacturer in partnership with Steinway & Sons, and Savant Systems, the industry's leading Apple®-based home automation, automation and media system, are pleased to announce the new S – Series theater in Savant’s New York Experience Center. Steinway Lyngdorf and Savant worked in cooperation to upgrade the audio system in the dedicated home theater, designed by renowned theater specialist and industry legend, Theo Kalomirakis, with their newest collection, the S – Series. Recognized by Robb Report in their 2012 Best of the Best issue and a recent winner of the red dot award for product design, the S – Series has been installed just in time for the 2012 CE Week in New York City. The contemporary theater is just one part of a nearly 8000-square-foot showroom which has been fully-automated to showcase how Savant’s systems integrate seamlessly in a real-world home and commercial environments.

“We are thrilled to be able to showcase and seamlessly integrate Steinway Lyngdorf’s S – Series in the Savant Experience Center, bringing an elegant form factor and exceptional audio quality to movies and music in our home theater,” explained Savant’s Executive Vice President Jim Carroll. Inside the contemporary 8-seat theater, three S-15 speakers finished in a discreet matte black create a powerful yet controlled statement in the front as the only visible speakers in the room. Model LS Series Boundary Woofers are tucked into the corners and S-16IW surround speakers are discreetly hidden behind acoustically transparent cloth making them completely invisible. The stunning design found throughout the space is courtesy of celebrity designer Thom Filicia, well-known as the host of Dress My Nest on the Style Network.

The S - Series delivers dazzling, true-to-life sound despite its surprisingly compact size, which makes it the perfect partner not just for Savant, but for all modern living spaces. It can reproduce the sound of rock videos, action movies, grand pianos and full orchestras with equal ease in any room, regardless of size. One of the reasons for this is that all Steinway Lyngdorf systems use an integrated system approach, in which high efficiency is achieved in every aspect of system design - electronically and acoustically.

No audio system is better than its signal processor, of course, which is why the S - Series setup in Savant’s Experience Center is driven by Steinway Lyngdorf’s Model P1 surround sound processor, the first surround sound processor to process the audio signal entirely in the digital domain. High-definition audio signals are handled in full resolution, and after RoomPerfect™ processing, the signal is sent directly to the fully digital amplifiers using Steinway Lyngdorf´s digital link technology. Every Steinway Lyngdorf system is thus able to maintain the audio signal entirely in the digital domain - from the source to the speaker.
